Spring foals and other such things had kept Nichole around her ranch for a while now. Finally, she had managed to sell a majority of the weaned foals and a few yearlings and had some free time.
She rode up to the river on a serene looking mare. The black and white pinto looked calm, but not tired. If there were any threats and Nichole gave the signal, the two would be off in a flash. Since her little run in with Tristan Turner, Nichole had been on her guard. Who knew what or who lurked in shadows? Now that she knew almost direct whereabouts of the Turner clan, something in her gut warned her she was being closely watched. However, if she was attacked, she could fight back. The woman had a talent with guns and rarely missed. In truth, she'd make an ideal outlaw. Though she wasn't sure of it, she had considered turning to the dark side. The laws of all the cities had tightened and she needed freedom. Still, it was merely a thought she was dwelling on. She had no desire to be chased around by sheriffs and hated by society. Worst of all, she didn't want to lose her ranch. It was her way of survival and she was attached to it.
All the pondering in her mind made her sigh. Why did it all have to be so complicated. She finally tugged back on the mare's reins so she came to a full halt, and unmounted. Nichole slipped off the bridle and made a rope halter and let the horse graze a bit. She made her way to the river, sat down, and dipped her feet in. The cool water was refreshing against her feet and also on her mind.

Elektra, who was on the opposite side of the river in a cluster of trees was sitting up on one of the higher branches of an old, wide, and tall oak tree. One leg was casually hanging down while the other was propped up. She had braught Phantom out for a ride for the day to think.

Though the anniversary of her mother's death was over, her thoughts of her father were not. She'd been finding herself wondering what had happened to him. Was he dead? Was he still alive? If he was still alive was the drunk bastard she'd left, or a changed man? She didn't know, but she'd found herself asking those questions over and over again. Something just seemed to be tugging at her heart, making her think of him. Maybe it was her mother trying to talk to her from the spirit world. She'd been contemplating about going and seeing if he was still alive. She was thinking she should discuss the matter with Maria and see what he thinks.

Phantom was just contently grazing throug the trees before he heard the sound of another horse. His nose lifted as he attempted to sniff the air and he cautiously made his way out of the foliage that had been hiding him and his master. He looked around spotting the mare and let out a greeting whinny before he moved to the watter and dipped down his head to get a drink of water. To anyone watching him he would have appeared to be a mustang. Whenever Elektra rode him and they'd stop for a break she would completely untack him and let him roam about. He would come whenever she whistled or called him. The stallion let out another shrill whinny before he rose on his hind legs showing his white under belly.

Other than his face and the small spot on his neck it was the only other area of white on him. Elektra had instantly been reminded of a ghost or phantom when she'd first saw him leading a heard of colts and stallions that had been ran off from other heards. He landed back down on his front feet and tossed his head letting out another shrill whinny as if he was trying to attract Nichole's mare to join him.

Elektra had heard him, but was figuring he was just playing around with a few wild horses in the area. He liked to run with them sometimes before she called him back.
